Last week, Joaquin Phoenix's publicist announced he was giving up movies. Actors try their hand at music all the time — usually with disastrous results — but Phoenix was excellent when he stepped into the role of Johnny Cash in the biopic Walk the Line and the music videos he's directed for the Silversun Pickups and She Wants Revenge haven't been half bad. But, on Saturday, at the premiere for his last film, Two Lovers, the words Good Bye graced his knuckles and reportedly said: "I want to take this opportunity...also to give you the exclusive and just talk a little bit about the fact that this will be my last performance as an actor. I'm not doing films anymore."
Good bye for good? Come on. How long do you think it'll take this Oscar winner to return?
